Poor Cleo  - her owner could no longer take care of her so she took her to a shelter.  Luckily the shelter called us and we came running.  Cleo is being checked out by the vet and soon we will have her back in shape.   Cleo is also heart worm negative.

Six weeks after rescuing Cleo and her friend Dottie from the shelter, we are pleased to report that Cleo is up to 42 lbs (up from 28 lbs at the shelter).  If you didn’t know she was 14 years old, you would not be able to tell – she has been of energy, given that she was half starved.  She is such a gentle soul and her eyes just reach into your heart.  Cleo is very friendly, in spite of what she went through before coming to NTBHR.  She enjoys snuggling up to you for a long nap and will present her belly for a rub at any opportunity.  She does not bark much and only feels the need to use a single bark to get her point across.  The great news is that she and Dottie are being adopted and will be able to spend their rest of their days in a loving home.
