Nothing could be warmer and sweeter than Apple Betty Pie; and this little girl is one sweet dessert! Abandoned by her family when they moved, Betty was left to fend for herself on the West Texas highways. A kind passer-by took her in and found Basset Rescue to help her. Apple Betty is totally housetrained even without a doggie door. Since Betty was abandoned, she does get anxious about being left alone and becomes quickly attached to people. She especially LOVES children and would do great in a home where she has kids to play with. Betty is very gentle and sweet; but, hasn't been taught manners. She's young enough to learn how to be a good pet and we are working on that. She loves to look out the windows. We leave our blinds open so she can.
She is happy to either sleep on the dog bed or in bed with a person. Betty prefers to be in the same room with you. Betty does not like the crate, but has to stay there for now when left alone.
Because of her age, and puppy-like behavior, she should be in a home with a stay-at-home parent. We would like to place her in a foster-to-adopt situation in order that her separation anxiety does not worsen.
