City Wide Pet Day

PARADE UPDATE!

Our parade committee has regretfully decided to cancel our participation in the Grapevine Parade of lights due to inclement weather.  Forecasts call for freezing rain and temperatures below 30 degrees all day on Thursday, and Friday.   Please stay warm and cuddle up with your basset hounds indoors on Thursday evening and have a cup of hot chocolate!

This is not an adoption event, even though some of our foster dogs may be there.  Please bring your basset hound and join us for a fun afternoon!

Hollywood Feed is an indoor location, so we'll have some much needed A/C! Bring your Bassets and humans for a howling good time! (Dogs with shorter ears are welcome too.)

North Texas Giving Day

In just six years, North Texas Giving Day has pumped more than $86 million into the North Texas community. In 2014, more than 98,000 gifts totaling $26.3 million benefitted 80 nonprofits.

You can give to NTBHR through this campaign, and your donation will be multiplied!  In addition to addition matching and bonus funds, we are eligible for prizes as well.

King and Queen of NTBHR Shuffle and Games

North Texas Basset Hound Rescue (NTBHR) is holding our first ever VIRTUAL contest to crown our King and Queen of the Basset Hound Shuffle and Games. NTBHR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Submit your favorite photos- entering is only $5! Voting is only $1, and we encourage you to ask your family and friends to vote and support our rescue!

This contest is open to all Basset Hounds, not just those located in North Texas.

The male Basset Hound with the most photograph votes will be crowned “King” of the NTBHR Basset Hound Shuffle and Games.  The female Basset Hound with the most photograph votes will be crowned “Queen” of the NTBHR Basset Hound Shuffle and Games.

If the King and Queen are present at the Shuffle (9:00 am – 1:30 pm on October 24, 2015 at Chisholm Park located at 2200 Norwood Drive in Hurst, TX), they will be announced and congratulated at the event.  If the Basset(s) cannot attend, we will post a photo of them to honor their royalty. 

The King and Queen will each receive a prize to acknowledge their reign.  If the hounds are not present, the prize will be mailed to their owner.

Prizes will be provided by Renee Bane of Artful Hounds.

The Shuffle is one of our major fundraisers for the year! So many new events this year! We are doing a Hunting demonstration this year, and will be participating in a hunting event in November!  Watch for the flyer in your goody bag!

Grapevine Parade of Lights

ALL Basset Hounds in the Metro-Plex are invited to participate in the Grapevine Parade of Lights! You do not have to have a rescue from NTBHR, just bring your basset!

This years parade theme is a Christmas Character, so our float will be "Rudolph the Red Nosed Basset". Reindeer Antlers and a glowing collar will be provided for your basset! 

Please fill out the registration form if you plan to participate on the Parade.  

This is a great evening of fun with your basset hound! Senior bassets will ride on the float, others may walk.  The crowd loves to see our doggies, this is a real pawty you won't want to miss!

Volunteers are needed to help build our float, so please contact Christie if you are available to assist during the day on Tuesday, Nov 29 or Wednesday Nov 30, or Thursday, Dec 1.
