THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Died February 2004 For Fannie Mae Burnett You were with us for such a short time But our lives will never be the same Your quirky personality and your crooked paw Made us love you, then we found out about your pain We couldn’t keep you with us Though it broke our hearts to say We had to say goodbye to you So you wouldn’t hurt day after day What a sweet, pretty, good GIRL you were You only aimed to please It isn’t fair you were born like this And no one ever knew I hope you understand our love was unconditional and true Now you will play with Tekah, Daisy, Sunshine and Rosie, too And wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge Where we promise we will come and meet up with you. We love you Fannie, Mom & Dad Flash was a roly poly Basset that filled every home he went to with love. He never complained even when he didn't feel well. He would greet you by rolling over and showing you his belly - knowing a belly rub did more good for his humans than for him. We will miss Flash and are sorry the cancer took him before we were ready to let go. Thanks for all the belly rubs. He will be missed by his family - Ray & Linda Nelson, and Bassets Maggie and Frank Grapevine, TX I fostered Franklin, fell in love with him and adopted him in October last year. He was a very precious basset and my two females loved him. He fit right in the house with everyone else. Who would have thought I would have three dogs. He become very sick on Thursday and I rushed him to the vet on Sunday. He had a tumor on his pancreas. Franklin will truly be missed. I loved him very much. Pam It is with great sympathy that I am writing this letter to you. Fred took his journey to the Rainbow Bridge last night enroute to the Banfield Urgent Care facility in Fort Worth . He had a heart murmur that we were treating in anticipation of a dental cleaning and removing a skin tag on his chest. He had not been feeling well the last couple of days and last night he would just stand and look at me and was breathing very heavily. He was our silly puppy and would howl every time we called him by that name and enjoyed our walks and car rides. He left us doing one of his favorite things of riding in the car. Here is one of our favorite pictures we have of him wearing his Oakley sunglasses from our youngest son. He will be missed but is happy and healthy on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge .
